I've been playing magic since Judgment, but only got involved in organised play when Lorwyn came out. Since then I've developed my game and built up a reputation as a deckbuilder. I spent a decent amount of time on the Wizards Forums spawned several standard archetypes, most famously Twin Sanity, but also the RUG land destruction deck during SOA-ZEN, Tezz-Infect and RWB Reanimator. I made the Pro Tour for the first Modern event in Philadelphia.

Loves a brew, so long as it's Blue-White and Tier 1.... or Earl Gray.

I'm kind of a big deal. I live in Edinburgh, in an apartment which smells of rich mahogany and contains many leather-bound books.
I'm nearly thirty, it's pretty grim.
I've been playing this children's card game for far too long.
I hate Coldplay, and make reference to this on average once per article. I'm not sorry, they're awful.Ben Heath
Reigning 'Manchester Irrelevant Format Champion' and perennial underachiever. I will have my Pro Tour Invite, in this life or the next.

Crucible of Words – Modern Confidant Reckoning by Cyrus Bales
Posted on February 28, 2013 | No CommentsWith everyone scrounging for a deck to play in modern, I thought I'd throw out an idea I had the other day, unsurprisingly it's black, red and white. -
Fact not Fiction – Dredging in Modern by Michael Maxwell
Posted on September 28, 2012 | No CommentsThe dredgevine archetype got a massive shot in the arm with the printing of Gravecrawler and Faithless Looting earlier this year. I was impressed in testing by this deck, it has a lot of lines of attack. -
Crucible of Words – All Dun Grovin’ (RTR Modern) by Cyrus Bales
Posted on September 16, 2012 | No CommentsThis week I thought I’d revisit a modern deck from an older article of mine; Dungrove Junk Rock. -
Grand Architect Deck Tech in Standard with Tom Harle
Posted on August 16, 2012 | No CommentsThe deck is obviously based on the Grand Architect deck that Brad Nelson used to come second at a GP with a few months ago with a few changes which I shall go through here. -
4 Colour Pod Deck Tech & Tournament Report – Everyday I’m shuffling with Andrew Devine
Posted on August 9, 2012 | 1 CommentI’ve been building Birthing Pod decks since the card was spoiled and playing them since I traded for a set at the Pre-release. As soon as I saw the card it had instant appeal to me as I love creature based decks with toolbox options and had previously been playing Fauna Shaman and Knight of the Reliquary very heavily. -
Naya Humans Deck Tech & Manchester WMCQ 2012 Top 8 Tournament Report by Andrew Quinn
Posted on July 11, 2012 | No CommentsIn the weekend just gone, I travelled to this year’s WMCQ in Manchester where I finally broke this run and got myself my very first top 8 finish. This is my tournament report for the event. -
Bloodbraid Balance in Legacy Revisited – Crucible of Words by Cyrus Bales
Posted on June 29, 2012 | No CommentsWhilst there are some obvious differences, it shares a lot with a deck I shared on May 6th last year, Bloodbraid Balance. -
Crucible of Words – A Closer Inspection of the Abortion by Cyrus Bales
Posted on June 15, 2012 | No CommentsAt the recent Magic-Con in Nottingham (PTQ and WMCQ) I played a version of the RWB Reanimator deck I piloted to top 8 at the previous WMCQ. I
