Crucible of Words - Brewing Standard For Battle For Zendikar by Cyrus Bales I'm back. Yes, it has been a long time since my last...
I've been very busy with other elements of life and my only magic based time was spent working on standard for the PTQ's. Now that they are all finished with for me, I'll spend today talking about what I am/was playing in standard at the moment.
Greetings, last week was PTQ London, the last Modern PTQ I'll be able to attend, since the one in Dundee this weekend is just a little too out of the way for me. The week before I lost in the final playing Jund, this week I expected a metagame shift so built accordingly with a "home brew".
This weekend just gone saw PTQ Manchester take place with over 160 players. Being the modern format, but without Bloodbraid Elf and Seething Song, it offered us something a little different, this week I’ll talk about the deck I played, why I played it and give you a tournament report.
With everyone scrounging for a deck to play in modern, I thought I'd throw out an idea I had the other day, unsurprisingly it's black, red and white.
This week I thought I’d share my thoughts on a potential new combo deck for Modern. The most notable thing about the deck, is that it’s UB, the colour of busted combo decks, Thopter-Depths and Mystical Reanimator spring to mind.
Recently I went to GP Bilbao, rather than the usual tournament report I would normally do, I’ll instead be recounting several tales of hilarity and bad beats encountered by myself and the other travelling players from the UK. I'll post another article with my decklist later on.
