How to Build a Deck and Generate a Decklist Using Magic Online (MTGO)

A quick and simple guide to building an MTG deck and generating a decklist using Magic: the Gathering Online (MTGO)

Step 1: Go on Magic Online, click on the Collection tab, and start a new deck of the format of your choice.

Step 2: On your collection, select the “Quantity” filter and set the minimum value to 0. This will show you all cards, even the ones you don’t own!

Step 3: You can use the filters to search cards by name, words in text, etc. Then, you can just drag and drop them on your new deck. Instant brewing!

Step 4: Brew your new deck. Once you have finished brewing your new awesome deck, bask in your genius (Note: Cards you do not own have the yellow/black border).

Step 5: On the left side, right click on your deck and select “Export”.

Step 6: Save your decklist as a .csv file.

Step 7: Open the file and you will see your decklist by card name, quantity, and other information.

Step 8: For best results, have the card name column to the right of the quantity column.

Many websites (like MTGGoldfish) will let you copy+paste the text list directly on their site so you can upload your decklist without having to type everything.
