2017 RPTQS (REGIONAL PRO TOUR QUALIFIERS) FOR PRO TOUR AMONKHET ENLGAND

Bring your top strategies with you to a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier, and you may be one of the few to emerge from the event with an invitation and airfare to Pro Tour Amonkhet!

Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers (RPTQs) for Pro Tour Amonkhet take place February 25-26, 2017 and March 4-5, 2017.

The Top 4 finishers of a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier receive airfare and invitations to Pro Tour Amonkhet, while 1st- through 8th-place finishers receive invitations to the next round of Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers.

Magic Online Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers will take place on March 4, 2017 and March 11, 2017. If you are interested in competing in a Magic Online Regional Pro Tour Qualifier, you will need to let us know before Wednesday, the weekend of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier that you’d like to compete. Details can be found further down on this page.

The format for this Regional Pro Tour Qualifier season is Standard Constructed.

As a reminder, players are only allowed to compete in one Regional Pro Tour Qualifier if they are qualified to play in one.

QUALIFICATION

Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers are an invitation-only event. An invitation to participate in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier for Pro Tour Amonkhet is offered to the following:

  • Players with a Pro Tour Players Club Silver level (as of the date of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier).
  • Players that won a Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifier from October 15, 2016 to January 8, 2017.
  • Players that finished 1st- through 8th-place at a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier for Pro Tour Aether Revolt.
  • Players that won a Regional Last Chance Qualifier that ties to that Regional Pro Tour Qualifier.

ELIGIBILITY

The following players may not compete in Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers for Pro Tour Amonkhet:

  • Players that previously participated in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier which awards an invitation to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
  • Players that won a Magic Online Pro Tour Qualifier Final which awards an invitation to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
  • Players that won a Magic Online Championship Series (MOCS) Playoff tournament which awards invitations to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
  • Players that finished in the Top 8 or finished with 39 or more match points in an individual-format Grand Prix which awards invitations to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
  • Players that finished in the Top 4 or finished with 36 or more match points in a team-format Grand Prix which awards invitations to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
  • Players that finished with 33 or more match points at Pro Tour Aether Revolt.
  • Players with a Pro Tour Players Club Gold or Platinum level (as of the date of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier).
  • Players that are members of the Pro Tour Hall of Fame.
  • Players that are otherwise already qualified for Pro Tour Amonkhet.

The structure for Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers is modified Swiss-style.

The top finishing players after the Swiss rounds play in one single-elimination playoff match to determine a Top 4.

PRIZES

The Top 4 of each Regional receive an invitation and travel award* to Pro Tour Amonkhet.

The Top 16 players in each Regional PTQ will receive a Regional PTQ playmat.
